Google serves two million searches per minute. Isn't Ixquick small in comparison?

Google has become the "default" search engine for millions of computer users. However, most of those users have not selected Google after careful research and thoughtful deliberation, but simply because Google was the search engine provided to them. You can see this with computers provided to schools, the public, and general users. Libraries, offices, schools, and universities often set Google as their homepage, and, of course, many software applications come pre-loaded with Google as the default search engine.

Of course, that kind of favoritism gives Google a huge advantage in the marketplace. We think it's pretty impressive that despite that, millions of people are seeking us out, looking for privacy-friendly alternatives, and thinking outside of the box.
