Why is there a Google cookie in my browser?
Last modified on 09 June 2017 01:53 AM

Ixquick never uses tracking cookies, and we have nothing to do with Google cookies.

A Google cookie called "PREF" can be set when you use Firefox or Chrome as your browser, regardless of whether you visit Google.com, Ixquick.com or any other website.

There is a technical reason why this happens. More information can be found here.

You can prevent the Google "PREF" cookie from being set by limiting your browser's use of cookies (which is a good idea from a privacy perspective anyway). Please consult your browser instructions for more information on how to block cookies.
